The name of Nebuchadnezzar is used by Jeremiah in Chapter 50 (50:17) and in Chapter 51 (51:34). The use of the name might cause some to initially think Jeremiah's use of the ancient name in these two end times chapters may mean they are really about the Babylon in the future. Like a good mystery, though, both references to Nebuchadnezzar are included in statements about how Israel had been attacked in the past. Historically true.

neither verse says the prophecies in Chapters 50 and 51 are about ancient Babylon. On the contrary, a close study of the 99 verses confirms they are for the future end days. Jeremiah 50:40, for example, states that the Daughter of Babylon will be destroyed "as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah." That type of dramatic destruction never happened to ancient Babylon, but it will happen to the Daughter of Babylon.

How likely is it that America will break its word to defend Israel? Chapter 14 analyzes what America has done to Israel to pressure it to give up His land, since President Bush (41) to President Obama. Suffice it to say that America has been taking actions that are contrary to God's word on this issue, at our peril.

The NIV version of Daniel 10:14, translates achariyth as the "future," not the 'least.' Translating acariyth as 'least' is not only contrary to other interpretations of achariyth, it is also inconsistent with the other Daughter of Babylon verses, which tell us that the nation is the world's preeminent superpower, not the 'least' nation.
