Quotes from Brian Godawa

Enoch did not care about the rebellion. He did not care about the gods. He did not care about anything anymore. His Edna was gone. Now, only his son Methuselah kept him anchored to this earth.

Joshua had been overcome by his own righteous indignation. He had become so obsessed with Yahweh's war that he forgot he was a servant and not the sovereign. He became momentarily blinded by the delusion that he could do no wrong. And when his hatred for evil was projected outward, he was overwhelmed by his rage and forgot the evil in himself. His momentary madness was the potential of every living person.

These Sons of God had rebelled against God's divine council in heaven and came to earth in order to corrupt God's creation and deceive mankind into worshipping them in place of the real God. While this is not polytheism, neither is it absolute monotheism. It is Biblical theism, which will become clear shortly.

Anu continued, "This Nephilim rebellion, this Gigantomachy, has wrought great destruction throughout the cities of our rule. We have all suffered great loss. And I want to assure you that on behalf of the pantheon of your gods, I feel your pain.

the problem was that the instruments of Yahweh's wrath were still men. And the taking of human life, though morally justified, was still the destruction of man created in the image of Yahweh. And once you had taken human life, it changed you. You were no longer an innocent. You had stepped into a polluted river of pain that cried out for redemption, for atonement.

The real revelation is that subversion of narrative is not a special technique used only by activists and intellectuals. It is the very nature of most storytelling through history. We are all creatures of our times seeking to control the narrative of our times, just as the ancients did. And those who control the cultural narrative, control the culture.

spend hours debating the greatness of Elohim versus the Great Goddess. She could hear Betenos breaking down in her protestations. She knew it was only a matter of time before Betenos rejected her pagan upbringing and embraced Elohim.

But good people of this fertile crescent, we will need your faith and your fortitude to help rebuild your cities, and create temples for your gods. To seek a progressive future where everyone will give their fair share and everyone will be taken care of from crib to grave.

Those guardians have a weakness. The gods cannot invade because their own kind, the heavenly host, outnumber them overwhelmingly. And earthborn humans cannot enter because of the Cherubim sentinels. That is why the Watchers bred the Nephilim. Nephilim are a hybrid of angel and human, a creature that exists simultaneously between heaven and earth. We can achieve collectively what our genetic sources cannot individually. And our numbers are legion.

Peter's mother-in-law spoke up, "Many of you know Gessius and how Jesus healed his servant, Joram." The centurion added, "With only his words—and from a distance.

According to the Evangelical Protestant principle of Sola Scriptura, that the Bible alone is the final authority of doctrine, not tradition, believers are obligated to first find out what the Bible text says and then adjust their theology to be in line with Scripture, not the other way around. All too often we find individuals ignoring or redefining a Biblical text because it does not fit their preconceived notion of what the Bible should say, rather than what it actually says.

Scholar Michael S. Heiser has pointed out that the Hebrew word Elohim was more of a reference to a plane of existence than to a substance of being. In this way, Yahweh was Elohim, but no other elohim was Yahweh. Yahweh is incomparably THE Elohim of elohim (Deut. 10:17).[2]

Seely shows how the modern scientific bias has guided the translators to render the word for "firmament" (raqia) as "expanse." Raqia in the Bible consistently means a solid material such as a metal that is hammered out by a craftsman (Ex. 39:3; Isa. 40:19). And when raqia is used elsewhere in the Bible for the heavens, it clearly refers to a solid material, sometimes even metal!

Enoch's mind drifted in painful memory to the recent deaths of Adam and Havah. Through the years of Enoch's stay with the cave dwellers, he had become close to his forefather. Adam had died first, but Havah followed close on his heels, as she always did.

Enoch knew that the gods would hunt them down as soon as they discovered the family was gone. They did not stand a chance, but he had to try. He had no other choice. Stay and certainly die, or run and probably die. When Methuselah arrived at the gathering point with Edna, Enoch glared with disapproval. Methuselah stared him in the eye and said, "Would you prefer she marry the gods?" Enoch stubbornly refused to answer as they moved on through the passageway. His son was right.

The stories sounded like the fantastic legends he would act out in his pantomime plays. But these were real stories. The people claimed to be eyewitnesses or actual recipients of the miracles. They couldn't all be lying, could they? Both brothers wanted to leave before the centurion recognized them. The woman continued, "Let us now pray for the ministry of Jesus and the disciples in the district of Tyre and Sidon.

Arisha noticed that all the greenery and trees were dying the more they walked on. They finally arrived at a large clearing of a hidden valley. But it was desert like, bounded by the foothills of the mountains on one side and the dry rocky bluffs on the other. It seemed strange to Arisha. It seemed like a little pocket of dry desert death in the midst of an otherwise lively area. She stopped, stunned by the sight before her.

The centurion surprised them. "The blessing of Messiah be upon you." Demas went blank. Gestas was quick. He replied, "And also upon you, brother." Gestas pushed the stunned Demas out the door. Once they left the house, Gestas whispered to Demas, "Amazing. They consider each other family. Roman, Pharisee and pleb.

earth. If you thought that the earth was not created to be a servant to humanity, but humanity was created to be a servant to the earth, then treating humans as servants and slaves would not be outrageous at all. Killing them might even be a good thing in this view. Perhaps this was also why the satyrs went to great lengths to protect the births of animals in the flocks but regularly caused miscarriages in her fellow nymphs, killing any infants that accidently survived.

They would worship you when you brought them success or food for their bellies, but they would impale you on a pole if you crossed them or failed to live up to their expectations. The people were a mob. Yahweh did not pick Israel because they were more righteous than the other nations, or for anything in themselves. He chose them as his people from his own mysterious sovereign will, for his own mysterious sovereign purposes.
