Quotes About Reaganism

During the 1980s, many people mistook Thatcherism and Reaganism - actually a wild form of liberalism - for conservatism.
~ Peter Hitchens
Well, 'They Live' was a primal scream against Reaganism of the '80s. And the '80s never went away. They're still with us. That's what makes 'They Live' look so fresh - it's a document of greed and insanity. It's about life in the United States then and now. If anything, things have gotten worse.
~ John Carpenter
Reaganism as a political movement has enormous resources behind it and it seeks - through stagecraft and through a tremendous level of effort toward propaganda - to present an image of Reagan that is so much larger-than-life that it sort of blinds us all, and keeps us all in a warm, happy, nostalgic state, thinking of a man who can do no wrong.
~ Eugene Jarecki
Bushism is Reaganism minus the passion for freedom.
~ George F. Will
Reaganism is not only at odds with the Judeo-Christian heritage, it will not work.
~ George McGovern
Identity is not the future of the left. It is not a force hostile to neoliberalism. Identity is Reaganism for lefties.
~ Unknown
My vehement distaste for Reaganism and Thatcherism is joined to 35.2 million Americans who voted against Reagan in 1980 (out of a total 76.5 million votes cast) and 37.5 million Americans who did likewise in 1984; and allied with 57.8% of the British electorate who voted against Mrs. Thatcher in 1987. Plus 56.1% anti-Thatcherites in 1979 and 57.6% in 1983. That is quite a lot of consensus repugnance.
~ Martha Gellhorn
