Some time later, Abraham was told, “Milcah has also borne sons to your brother Nahor:

Uz the firstborn, his brother Buz, Kemuel (the father of Aram),

Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”

And Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight sons to Abrahamís brother Nahor.

The LORD, the God of heaven, who brought me from my fatherís house and my native land, who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying, ëTo your offspring I will give this landí—He will send His angel before you so that you can take a wife for my son from there.

She replied, “I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milcah bore to Nahor.”

“I am Abrahamís servant,” he replied.

My master made me swear an oath and said, ëYou shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites in whose land I dwell,

but you shall go to my fatherís house and to my kindred to take a wife for my son.í

Then I asked her, ëWhose daughter are you?í She replied, ëThe daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore to him.í So I put the ring on her nose and the bracelets on her wrists.
