This end-time "Baptism of Fire" goes beyond the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the accompanying gifts, and has a two-fold purpose: It will burn away all that "hinders" the end-time visitation of the Lord; and it will "reveal" the Shekinah Glory of the Lord.

Shekinah" means the glory or the radiance of God dwelling in the midst of his people. It denotes the immediate Presence of God as opposed to a God who is abstract or aloof.

But this light of Genesis 1:3, while not God, was still unique. It wasn't sourced in the sun or stars—they wouldn't be created until Day 4 (see Ch. 8). Fruchtenbaum plausibly argues that the source of this physical light was probably the Shekinah Glory.
