The race has already been won, God impressed on his heart. All I'm asking you to do is show up and let my light shine through you.

I know it's difficult. But, yes, God is working even in the midst of whatever problem you're going through. He's working in both seen and unseen ways. He's working to put you on a path that you'll never regret, a path of extraordinary goodness that's a reflection of his character. In the meantime, your task is to dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.

Chances are good that you once had a dream—a big, noble, beautiful dream—that you could envision coming true, but that dream was snatched away. An experience like that leaves you longing for a comeback.

Sometimes we blow it, make terrible choices, and need to come back from our own sin, failure, and mistakes. There was a dream in your heart, and you believed your life would unfold according to that dream. Yet your decisions knocked that dream off the rails.

God is a dream-giving God. He's given you and me dreams.

We need to fight a battle to see this truth. When bad things happen, the Enemy comes through the door and tells us that God doesn't love us anymore and has no plan for us, and then we tend to bail out on God.

It changes your outlook to know that almighty God is in every circumstance with you.

Our change is more about trusting and less about trying.

We can't predict what type of sustaining graces God will provide for us. And we can't expect that the kind of sustaining grace someone else receives will be the same kind of care we will receive. We can only trust that the provision will come.

That's the lesson for us. It's never too late. We're never too far gone. We haven't strayed too far. God is always good, and he always remembers us. Our prayer isn't to get revenge on a group of people, but it's to be strengthened once more so we might live for God's glory.

When we suffer, it's always for somebody's saving—that issue is always hanging in the balance. It's not all about me; it's all about Jesus becoming known in this broken world.

When we are at our absolute lowest and weakest, Jesus invites us to hand him everything we have left. He invites us to give him our little, whatever our little is. When we give away our little, we place our full confidence in him.

The Devil wants nothing more than to crush you. He wants to steal from you everything you value. He wants to kill everything in your life that's good. Ultimately, he wants to destroy you. If he can claim the victory over your mind, he can eventually claim the victory over your life. But the message of Psalm 23 is that the Good Shepherd prepares a table for you. It's a table for two, and the Devil is not invited to sit.

That doesn't mean we should say, "Bring me more struggle because more people will get salvation." None of us runs eagerly into that battle. But when the battle comes to us, we know God is working a great purpose.

God is bigger and more powerful than we can ever imagine. We may be hurt, yes, but Jesus is bigger than our wounds. Jesus is bigger than our sorrows.
