Then the angel of the LORD said, “How long, O LORD of Hosts, will You withhold mercy from Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which You have been angry these seventy years?”

So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who was speaking with me.

Therefore this is what the LORD says: ëI will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there My house will be rebuilt, declares the LORD of Hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.í

Then I lifted up my eyes and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.

and said to him, “Run and tell that young man: ëJerusalem will be a city without walls because of the multitude of men and livestock within it.

Then the LORD summoned me and said, “Behold, those going to the land of the north have given rest to My Spirit in the land of the north.”

And you are to tell him that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ëHere is a man whose name is the Branch, and He will branch out from His place and build the temple of the LORD.
