I'm actually not on Twitter.

What I've become good at is bringing things that aren't necessarily mainstream to the mainstream. What I did see on Twitter was a potential for mass publication; it's a mainstream consumer broadcasting device. It transforms customers and companies. You have to be transparent or you fail.

I actually love Twitter and Instagram. I do think it's so strange to think that 20 years ago, people would never have known personal stuff about musicians and actors, but I like it. As long as I don't obsessively overshare, it's OK. And when I do overshare, it's just, like, me saying, 'I've got $7 in my bank account!'

When I was first writing 'Feed' - which was the first book I published as Mira - I talked about it very openly on my blog, on Twitter, that I was writing this book, and it wasn't until after it was sold that I said 'Mira Grant' wrote this book. And the reason there was really purely marketing-based.

Because of Twitter, I think people know most every single thing about me. I don't know if there's anything that would surprise people about me.

Especially with Facebook and Instagram and Twitter, I can't tell necessarily the nitty gritty of what you're really up to. I'm just seeing the performance of all the work you're doing and the look you're giving; it's very hard to get to the center. It's very hard to see what's what.

Journalists have sometimes looked to my Twitter account and quoted me from there, and that's fine because that's public domain. I know exactly what I'm doing when I post something on Twitter; in a way, it's saying, 'This is who I am, and I don't have anything to hide.'

I've come to really like Twitter. You really do get to see what I'm about, and I like sharing with my fans.

I'm interested in two things. I'm interested in truth and I'm interested in fairness.

I ran out of any type of persona. I just had to be me.

It is unsound for an independent editor to be a financial contributor to any cause which would cause any type of special pleading.

This is sort of typical Hillary Clinton: to do things that are not legal, to say that they are, and then try to cover them up. Hillary Clinton severely chastised other whistleblowers for using Internet channels that were not secure, and yet she herself was doing that with private, high-level State Department information.

Corruption is just another form of tyranny.

I pefer an ugly truth to a pretty lie. If someone is telling me the truth that is when I will give my heart.

And rather than hide that, I would rather put that out on the radio and let someone see the full range of emotions. If you're going to be strong on the radio, you got to let it all out, even the ugly stuff. And you can't apologize for it.

I realized I am living an amazing, gorgeous, large life. I want to share this, and that includes the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Those parts of myself that are too ugly or dangerous are precisely the things I feel convicted to share.
