Later, the LORD said to Moses,

Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, place fire from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, because wrath has come out from the LORD; the plague has begun.”

So Aaron took the censer as Moses had ordered and ran into the midst of the assembly. And seeing that the plague had begun among the people, he offered the incense and made atonement for the people.

Then Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, since the plague had been halted.

And the LORD said to Moses,

Then Moses placed the staffs before the LORD in the Tent of the Testimony.

The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaronís staff, representing the house of Levi, had sprouted, put forth buds, blossomed, and produced almonds.

Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORDís presence to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man took his own staff.

So Moses did as the LORD had commanded him.

And the LORD instructed Moses,

Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

Now there was no water for the congregation, so they gathered against Moses and Aaron.
