There are so many different ways of being different. Also, pretty much everyone is different and weird in some way, they just don't always show it. If we're talking about being introverted, it doesn't really matter what people think of your need to be alone because that defeats the purpose.

People consider being different good if it results in a personality that does not make them feel weird, and provides them enjoyment in some way. Being an introvert as your choice of different doesn't fit that criteria, unfortunately.
