Then the LORD said to Moses, “This is what you are to tell the Israelites: ëYou have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven.

Pay close attention to everything I have said to you. You must not invoke the names of other gods; they must not be heard on your lips.

You must not bow down to their gods or serve them or follow their practices. Instead, you are to demolish them and smash their sacred stones to pieces.

You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.

And if one of the common people sins unintentionally and does what is prohibited by any of the LORDís commandments, he incurs guilt.

If someone sins and violates any of the LORDís commandments even though he was unaware, he is guilty and shall bear his punishment.
