Man has been driven eternally at a primal level within the core of his being to find the intersection of finite matter and infinity, which energy represents in its most un-manifested form. The energy that animates all matter, in particular living matter, is accepted as either representative of, or a subset of, the infinite creation.

But life here is not the end. Reality is more than we think it to be. There is another and greater reality that envelops this earthly one. Earth is not outside heaven, as the philosopher Peter Kreeft wrote; it is heaven's workshop, heaven's womb.

Our planet cannot continue to be a life-giving environment unless human beings quickly become much more responsible stewards of the created world.

The real question is why is there "being"? The existence of existence is amazing, awesome.

Light beams became alive, and became not only alive, but self-aware, and acquired the ability to wonder. The wonder is not whether this genesis took six days or fourteen billion years or even eternity.

Why is there an "is"? Why is there something rather than nothing? For that answer both science and religion must turn to the metaphysical.

My hope is that we can leave behind preconceived notions and search for what the world and the Bible actually tell us about the God of creation.
